Update Declaration for the next Dark Model's sound

Dark Model will drop a new album called "Impulse" just three months after the release of "Odyssey." While keeping the epic and dramatic signatures of Dark Model's music, Oe displays a new direction of the sound in this album, which is more contemporary and futuristic, while setting itself apart from its conventional "classical and apocalyptic" style.

Dark Model is an orchestral electronic music project by award-winning music producer Tatsuya Oe. The music is based on a concept that Oe has unvaryingly embraced throughout his career: incorporating a diverse range of musical ideas and elements into what he calls "Musical Narratives."

In the album "Impulse," the leading track "Terra" and guitar-featured "Echoes of Sun, " both of which integrate uplifting and epic signatures of Dark Model with minimalism/contemporary classical style, which Oe has often displayed under his alter ego OE. And these tracks are considered to be the songs for "the declaration of the next Dark Model's sound."

On the other hand, "Time Zone" and "Neuromancer," orchestral EDM tracks reminiscent of the 2020 release "Driving Orchestral Electro Mix," will give a sense of reassurance to the traditional fans of Dark Model.

次世代 Dark Model「バージョン・アップ宣言」

『Odyssey』から3か月、早くもDark Modelの新作が登場。前作同様「音の一大スペクタクル」の形容に相応しい壮大なスケール感を保ちつつも、今作はクラシカルで世紀末的な従来のDark Modelスタイルを離れ、よりコンテンポラリーで近未来的な音世界が展開されている。

＜解説＞
Dark ModelはCaptain Funkの名前でもよく知られる音楽プロデューサー、タツヤオオエによる、壮大でエモーショナルなオーケストラ・エレクトロニック・サウンドを特徴としたプロジェクト。新作『Impulse』は、Dark Modelの新たな方向性を感じさせる、コンテンポラリーでドラマティックな楽曲が集められている。

特筆すべきはリードトラックの『Terra』とギターをフィーチャーした『Echoes of the Sun』。OE名義の作品で時折顔を覗かせるミニマリズム的なテイストを取取り込みつつも、Dark Modelの最大の特徴であるアップリフティングで壮大な世界観を貫くそのサウンドは、Dark Modelの「次世代バージョン・アップ宣言」の曲だとも解釈できるだろう。

『Time Zone』『Neuromancer』の様な、2020年作品『Driving Orchestral Electro Mix』にも通じる近未来的でグルーヴィーな楽曲も収録されており、従来のDark Modelファンも安心して楽しめる一枚となっている。

Dark Modelの音楽は数多くのメディアプロジェクトでフィーチャーされ、ハリウッド映画では「Elysium (エリジウム)」「ザ・ペーパーボーイ」「マネー・モンスター」の予告編や、レクサス、米最大手通信会社ベライゾン「ドロイド」、X Box「Forza Motorsport」、ブリザード・エンターテインメント「オーバーウォッチ」などの企業広告、ロンドンのコンテンポラリー・ダンスアカデミーNorthern Balletのコレオグラフィーなどに使用されている。

セカンド・アルバム『Saga』は米国第16回インディペンデント・ミュージック・アワード の「ベスト・ダンス/エレクトロニカ・アルバム」を受賞。Dark Modelの人気曲の一つ「Judgment Day」は中国のストリーミングサービス NetEase Cloud Musicにおいて200万回再生を達成している。
